A Different Kind of Tarot App
Most tarot apps work like this: tap a button, see a random card, read a generic meaning. They’re fun for a few minutes, but they don’t help you become a better reader.
Teresa Does Tarot is different. It’s built for people who own a physical tarot deck and want to do real readings — for themselves, for friends, for family, maybe even for clients someday.
What Makes It Different
It works with your deck, not instead of it. You lay your physical cards on the table. The app helps you identify them and pulls up meanings in context — for the position they landed in, upright or reversed.
It teaches as it goes. Every reading is a learning opportunity. You can look up any card while you’re sitting at the table — no need to memorise all 78 meanings before you begin.
Your readings stay under your control. The journal is stored in this browser’s IndexedDB, with no account or cloud sync. You can export a JSON backup. Optional, allowlisted product analytics do not start unless you consent.
Getting Started
- Open the app on your phone (it works as a web app — no App Store needed)
- Grab your tarot deck
- Choose a simple spread — the three-card Past/Present/Future is a good place to start
- Follow the prompts and do your first reading
That’s it. You can be doing your first reading within minutes.
What’s Coming
The focused release supports the Rider–Waite–Smith deck. The scanner remains a beta aid and always asks you to confirm the card and orientation. The next priority is learning whether the reading journal, reference, and practice loop are useful enough for people to return.
Before clearing browser data, use Settings to export a backup. Browser storage is not encrypted by the app and can be removed by browser or device cleanup.
